Equitable Pay & How We Price Our CSA
Farming brings a rich diversity of connections into our lives; we love the dynamic, and challenging work of farming and the relationships we have formed in our neighborhood and community. We are grateful for the outdoor work, and the amazing food we have access to. We feel privileged to be growing food for our neighbors and CSA members, and finding the balance of charging enough to pay a decent wage, while keeping our food reasonably priced, has been incredibly challenging.
This year, we are raising our veggie share prices to accommodate rapidly rising operating costs, and most importantly, to increase wages for our employees and for ourselves. Our goal in 2022 is to pay our farm crew $14-$15/ hr, and to pay ourselves (Zach and Kristen), as farm owners and operators, a family salary of $20,000.
